1853: OTIS ELEVATOR CO. LTD
American inventor Elisha Graves Otis built the first safety elevator in 1852. In the 1870s, Otis entered Europe.
Its elevators were installed at the Kremlin, Balmoral Castle, the Hungarian Royal Palace and the Eiffel Tower. In the early 1900s, the Buckingham and the Mysore Palaces were also home to Otis elevators
