          5. Partha Pratim Majumder is an Indian Scientist. He completed his Bachelor’s (1974), Master’s (1975) and PhD (1982) in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta, India. Post this, he worked as a Senior Research Associate and a Research Instructor at the Center for Demographic & Population Genetics, University of Texas, Houston, U.S.A.

          He is currently a 'Distinguished Professor' at the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Kalyani and an Emeritus Professor at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. In 2018, he was elected President of the Indian Academy of Sciences.[1]
